Workshop Description

Participants MUST have proof of a valid MCNP® license from RSICC prior to the class.  Email proof by following the steps in this .pdf file.  You must email this proof to Randy Schwarz with your registration.

Nucwiz is a rapid geometry development application that allows you to create basic source, shield, tally configuration.  This can be done much faster than any other geometry creation tool.  For example, to make a sphere source inside two cylinder shields takes 16 steps in Nucwiz where it took over 75 in the Visual Editor.  Because of this, Nucwiz provides a unique opportunity to create many configurations for analysis in the workshop.   Geometries are run in MCNP®.  The Visual Editor is used for particle track plotting, mesh tallies, and variance reduction.

The workshop combines teaching on running MCNP®, along with instructions on how to use Nucwiz for geometry creation and the Visual Editor for plotting. Participants are encouraged to bring their own input files for analysis by Randy Schwarz.
